Custom Ceramic Product Manufacturing Process
1. Initial Consultation & Requirement Analysis
- Client Inquiry: Client provides product specifications (e.g., design, dimensions, material type, glaze color, quantity, and intended use).
- Feasibility Review: Factory evaluates technical feasibility, material compatibility, and production capacity.
- Quotation: Provide a detailed quote including unit price, mold costs (if applicable), production timeline, and shipping terms.
2.Design Confirmation & Prototyping
Design Finalization
Client submits sketches, CAD files, or reference images.
Factory creates 3D renderings or technical drawings for approval.
Mold Development
Custom molds are crafted for unique shapes (plaster, resin, or CNC molds).
Mold cost is confirmed and invoiced separately (non-refundable).
Sample Production
Trial production of physical prototypes (1–3 samples).
Client reviews samples for aesthetics, size, color, and functionality.
Revisions (if needed) are limited to 2 rounds to avoid delays.
3. Contract & Payment
- Agreement Signing: Formal contract outlining specifications, pricing, timelines, quality standards, and liability terms (e.g., IP ownership).
- Payment Terms:
- Deposit: 30–50% upfront payment to commence production.
- Balance: Paid before shipment or upon completion (as agreed).
4. Mass Production
Raw Material Preparation
Sourcing high-quality clay, glazes, and pigments per client requirements.
Forming Process
Techniques: Slip casting, jiggering, pressing, or hand-throwing.
Greenware drying and initial inspection.
Firing & Glazing
Bisque firing (first kiln firing at 900–1100°C).
Glaze application (dip, spray, or hand-painting).
Final firing (1200–1400°C, depending on material).
Quality Control (QC)
Dimensional accuracy, glaze consistency, and defect checks (cracks, warping).
Compliance with client’s quality standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO).
5. Packaging & Shipping
Custom Packaging
Foam inserts, dividers, or carton boxes to prevent breakage.
Branding options (logo printing on packaging).
Logistics
Arrange shipping (sea/air freight) and handle customs documentation.
Provide tracking details and estimated delivery date.
